It’s becoming a habit: Sunny Isles Beach’s most famous luxury oceanfront resort has just been named one of the best hotels in the country.
US News & World Report has just released its 2022 ranking of the best hotels in the United States, and in what surprised no one, Acqualina Resort was ranked no. 3 in the countrybehind The Peninsula Chicago (#1) and Montage Kapalua Bay in Maui (#2).
The best hotels were recognized for their exceptional customer service, comfortable rooms and variety of on-site amenities. For Acqualina, which also ranked in the top three in 2021, which features a spectacular beachfront, multiple pools, the award-winning Espa spa and restaurants including Ke-uH, which serves sushi and other Japanese fusion dishes , and the more traditional Il Mulino New York, which serves classic Italian cuisine.

In 2021, Acqualina won an avalanche of accolades. He was nominated the best waterfront hotel in the country for the fifth consecutive year in the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards by USA Today. It was also included in the Forbes Five-Star 2021 list and was also named one of the best hotels in the United States by Tripadvisor.
A few other Miami-area resorts have also made the US News & World Report’s 50 Best Hotels list. the Setai Miami Beach was no. 37 years old, with Fena in Miami Beach at no. 39 (in 2021, Faena was also named one of the best hotels in Miami by Condé Nast Traveler). the St. Regis Bal Harbor Resort ranked No. 47. All three luxury hotels made the Forbes Five-Star list in 2021.
The ranking remains important in 2022 as the pandemic continues to disrupt travel, said Zach Watson, US travel editor.
“The travel industry has faced significant disruption over the past two years, underscoring the need to support and recognize hotels that continue to maintain excellent standards,” he said in a statement. “The 2022 Best Hotels ranking offers a reliable guide that travelers can use to plan their next trip, whether it’s in a few weeks or later in the year.”
US News & World Report also rated hotels in the Caribbean, ranking Eden Rock-St. Barths No. 1 and Rosewood Bermuda as No. 1 in Bermuda. Jade Mountain in St. Lucia has been voted the best all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean.
The methodology for calculating ratings includes analyzing the hotel’s reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews, and hotel class ratings.
