60 students in Karnataka college hostels test positive for COVID-19

Dharwad: As many as 60 students have tested positive for COVID-19 at two hostels at the SDM College of Medical Sciences located at Manjusreenagar in Dharwad, Karnataka.

Speaking to the media, Dharwad District Collector Nitish Patil said: “60 students from SDM College of Medical Sciences in Dharwad have tested positive for COVID-19. Test reports from another 100 students are awaited. “Two foyers at the college have been sealed,” Patil said.

Meanwhile, Karnataka has reported 306 new cases of COVID-19, 224 recoveries and two deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the state’s health bulletin today.

With this, the total number of cases in the state rose to 29,941,561. The total number of deaths in the state stands at 38,187.
